Camp Olympia is a Rockville sports camp, nursery, and day care school that also offers horseback riding to children and adults from all across Maryland. Our summer sports camp was established over 50 years ago, and has been catering to the needs of the neighborhood's parents since the early 1950s. The facility is located very close to the Washington DC city line, placing it in a perfect location. The suburban area and the proximity to the city create a unique environment at Camp Olympia, unmatched by any other sports camp in the area!
At the nursery school/ day care at Camp Olympia we utilize our wonderful country environment at the camp to enhance the learning and development of a preschooler on a daily basis. They will learn about nature through our daily hikes through the woods, fields, and streams. In addition we will work on helping your child to develop social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative skills. The nursery classes are offered for children from the age of 2 to 6, with the 5 and 6 year olds being in kindergarten. The Rockville nursery/A day care school puts more effort into helping the child learn from his or her own interests or observations. All children develop differently, and they need different ways of learning, which is provided at Camp Olympia.
Camp Olympia's Rockville sports camp, nursery, school and day care also provide children, teenagers, and adults with horseback riding on the Rockville MD terrain, bringing them closer to exploring their homeland. For a preschooler to be able to get lessons for horseback riding, the child should be at least 5 years of age. These riders must have an adult accompanying them to assist with leading the horse. There are more than 16 school horses which are available for all levels of abilities. Equipped with facilities such as indoor and outdoor rings, as well as cross country trails, our riders have access to several varieties of horseback riding in Rockville MD. The instructors are fully equipped with the skills necessary to impart the equestrian art to all.
As for our summer sports camp in Rockville, swimming is lifelong skill that every child will have an opportunity to learn at Camp Olympia. Safety first: preschoolers who are under 5 years of age will be allowed to use the pool once a day, while others will be able to use the pool twice a day. Other opportunities offered at Camp Olympia are sports like basketball, soccer, track and field, and also less conventional sports such as gymnastics.
