Riding Programs
TEAM COMPETITION:
In addition to the riding program, Camp Olympia offers an NCEL (National Capital Equitation League) competitive riding team for eligible juniors (up to their 19th birthday). We compete against other area riding schools in 6 meets per year on the flat and over fences. This is a great opportunity for riders to gain experience and to further develop their skills. Riders must try out to become a member of this team. Tryouts are held each fall.
In addition there is a junior team (JEL) for riders not quite ready for the senior team. This team is usually younger riders aspiring to be members of the NCEL team in the future. The JEL competes in approximately ten meets per year. Tryouts are also held in the fall.
SPRING BREAK CAMP:
Two five day horsemanship camps consisting of grooming, tacking, exercises, and riding twice a day are available during the Montgomery County and private school spring vacations.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES:
We offer pony rides for birthday parties to be held at the Camp. Please ask for details.
GIRL SCOUT BADGES:
Girl Scout/ Brownie troops can earn their horse lover's and horse rider’s badges at Camp Olympia. We are an approved facility by the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital. Please ask for details.
SUMMER CAMP AND YEAR ROUND PRESCHOOL:
Camp Olympia offers a fully licensed preschool/ kindergarten (ages 2 1/2 through 6) and a summer sports camp (ages 3 ½ - 15). These popular programs take full advantage of our great country setting. Please ask for more details.
If you have any special requests or needs, please discuss them with the Stephen Benedek prior to registration.
